The University of Canberra will install five ‘3 on 3’ basketball courts throughout its Bruce campus, thanks to an injection of Government funds of more than $215,000. Announced today by Liberal Senator Zed Seselja, the funding is part of the Sports Infrastructure Grants Program included in the Federal Budget.
“We welcome this commitment to encouraging a healthy, active campus, not just for our students, but also for our staff and the broader community to access for clubs, training, competitions and recreational activity,” said Carrie Graf, UC Director of Sport.
“Initiatives such as this encourage an active campus and speak to our ethos as a leading sport and health university.”
Work is expected to commence on the installation of the courts as soon as possible.
