Nutrition graduate stars in MasterChef Australia

Antony Perry

22 May 2018: Chloe Carroll had her child’s best interests at heart when she started studying nutrition at the University of Canberra in 2011.

Her daughter, Sienna, was three years old and the first-time mum wanted nothing more than to raise a healthy child.

“I always wanted my kids to grow up healthily,” she said. “I already had a huge interest in health and nutrition and decided a university degree was the path to go down.”

Fast forward seven years and Ms Carroll’s desire to educate others on the importance of a healthy diet has taken her from the classroom to the small screen.

A little over a year on from graduating in 2017, she is cooking as one of the top 24 contestants in the new season of MasterChef Australia.

The 28-year-old said studying nutrition at the University cemented her love and passion for food.

“Healthy eating is a huge passion of mine,” she said. “A big part of me coming on MasterChef was to show people good food and to get them involved with it. I’m always trying to get people eating healthily.”

At the end of her MasterChef Australia journey, Ms Carroll hopes to open a cooking school, focusing on family nutrition and encouraging children to get more involved in food preparation.
