Anya is a sessional academic and solicitor in private practice.

Anya has been teaching for the past 9 years, first at the ANU and subsequently at Canberra Law School. Anya has taught Evidence Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice at the ANU; and Advocacy, Criminal Justice, Cybercrime, Evidence, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution at Canberra Law School.

Overview

At the moment Anya is Course Convenor for Advocacy, Family Law and Criminal Justice and Lecturer in Evidence Law. Anya has taught Evidence Law for the past 7 years and over the past 4 years I has also convened Criminal Justice.

Anya has a varied interest in the law, having spent her early career working in criminal law with the ACT DPP and then the Cth DPP. Anya has subsequently worked in civil litigation and for the past 4 years has been practice head in a local private firm, engaging primarily in family law litigation. Anya’s postgraduate research interests include evidence law and admissibility of covert recordings, particularly in the context of family violence.
