Case Studies and Testimonials
Australian Government Department of Communications
The Digital Communications Branch at the Australian Government Department of Communications produces content and products across a range of platforms to help citizens understand Government policies and provide opportunities for them to engage with the Department on its work. The Branch offers interns from Public Relations, Graphic Design and Media Arts and Production the opportunity to work in the team on a variety of communications tasks, from Ministerial events to content creation and website development.
It's important for us to know that we're educating students about the exciting possibilities in the APS and in our Department......we appreciate the fresh perspective the students bring into our workplace.

Australian Government Department of Education and Training
Public Relations student James Ricupito undertook an internship with the Communication Branch of the Australian Government Department of Education and Training in late 2015, assisting with communications plans, Departmental events and intranet, social media and news announcements. James was offered a full-time position as a Communications Officer when he finished his placement.
The internship helped me gain confidence and to think on my feet in a guided and structured environment.

Public Relations Project
In PR Project, students work with organisations as real clients to develop communications solutions for their issues or programs. The students effectively work as pro bono consultants to these clients, developing strategies and plans to assist them in areas as diverse as audience retention, social media, fundraising, corporate communication or public awareness.
The PR Project unit provided the opportunity to do real communications work for a real organisation, it was great to get some real-world media and communications experience before entering the workforce and leaving university.
