Biography:

Judith Ann Clingan AM is an Australian composer, conductor, performer and music educator.

Based in Canberra, Clingan also facilitates choral and music theatre holiday schools, music education courses, in addition to performing choral and recorder recitals.

Clingan trained in voice, bassoon and composition at the Canberra School of Music, and in Early European Music at the University of Sydney.  Thereafter, she went on to study conducting and music education at the Kodaly Institute, Kecskemet, Hungary.

Upon her return from Europe, Clingan founded a tuition and performance organisation, Gaudeamus, which later became known as ‘Music For Everyone’, and which is now incorporated into ‘Music for Canberra’.

Clingan balances her music commitments with an ongoing art practice, which commenced shortly after completing studies at the Australian National University (2010-2011) where she majored in painting.
