Wiradjuri's magnificent outdoor area and adventure playground located behind Building 5 was opened in August 1999 and was designed to emulate an Australian native garden. It features landscaped play areas, rolling lawns and a dry river bed. A sandpit, children’s garden, vegetable patch, shade area, meeting place, climbing frame and the adaptable obstacle course make for an exciting and challenging outdoor experience.
Our multipurpose shed, the Wagagi hut, which is Wiradjuri Aboriginal language for "to play", stores many items used for an outdoor program such as softplay blocks, woodwork and art/craft materials. It was also designed to provide ready access to the first aid station, telephone, toilets, basins and a BBQ.
Lunchtime barbeques are regularly held utilising the playground and BBQ so that we can all enjoy our outdoor facility.
These photographs were taken on the 28th August 2005. Click on each image for an enlargement.
