Work Integrated Learning Partnerships
Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN)
The University of Canberra is a foundation member of ACEN, the professional association for academics, practitioners and researchers from the higher education sector, industry, community and government representatives of work integrated learning in Australia.
University of Canberra staff are therefore entitled to free individual membership.
So if your work is related to student internships, community based learning, cooperative education, work placements, field studies or practicum, register with ACEN: http://www.acen.edu.au/join/. You will be able to access resources and find out about relevant events such as:
- The National ACEN conference on WIL from 29 September-1 October in Perth. Early bird registration closes on June 30. As a member university we get a discounted registration.
Professor Carole Kayrooz is the ACEN contact for University of Canberra, so if you have any queries or would like more information on ACEN, please do not hesitate to contact her.

The University is now a WACE partner. Benefits of the partnership include:
- promotion of the University of Canberra on the WACE website;
- access to WACE publications;
- complimentary registration for three staff at the annual world conference;
- participation in the WACE International Workplace Student Exchange Program.
