Citation
1. This statute may be cited as the University of Canberra (Election of Staff and Student Members of Council) Statute 2010.
Repeal
2.
(1) The University of Canberra Election of Staff Members of Council Statute 2007 is repealed.
(2) The University of Canberra Election of Student Members of Council Statute 2007 is repealed.
Commencement
3. This statute commences on the date of notification.
Definitions
4. In this Statute, unless the contrary intention appears:
“staff member” means a member of Council referred to in paragraph 11 (1) (e) or (f) of the University of Canberra Act 1989 (ACT).
“student member” means a member of Council referred to in paragraph 11(1)(g) or (h) of the University of Canberra Act 1989
(ACT).
Rules
5. The Council may make rules, not inconsistent with the University of Canberra Act 1989 (ACT) or a statute, with respect to the election of staff members and student members of Council.
The foregoing Statute is made by Council under section 40 of the University of Canberra Act 1989 (ACT). The Statute was approved by Council at meeting No. 130 on 6 November 2009.

In making this Statute the University had regard to the provisions of section 40B(1)(b) of the Human Rights Act 2004 (ACT).
