Citation

1.
This Statute may be cited as the Student Conduct Statute 1992.

Repeal

2.
The Student Conduct Statute (Statute No. 3 of the Canberra College of Advanced Education) is repealed.

Interpretation

In this Statute, unless the contrary intention appears:

"assessment"[2] means any task required to be undertaken by a student for the assessment of the student's performance in a unit of study provided by the University and includes:

(i)
any thesis, sub-thesis, dissertation, research project, written report, assignment, essay or other requirement relating to the unit that is undertaken for the assessment of the student's performance in that unit; and
(ii)
bridging requirements, if any, relating to the course in which the student is enrolled; and
(iii)
any requirement to be performed by the student for assessment for the award of a degree of Bachelor with honours.

"Student Conduct Officer" means the officer of the University appointed under subsection 5 (2).[1]

Council empowered to make rules

4.
The Council may make rules, not inconsistent with the University Act; or a Statute, with respect to:
(a)  the regulation of the conduct of students; and
(b)  misconduct of students in an assessment; [2] and
(c)  the imposition of penalties upon students (including, where appropriate, an order to pay compensation) for contravention of rules made under this section.

Appointment of Officers[1]

5. (1) The Vice-Chancellor may appoint an officer of the University to be the Student Conduct Officer.
