The University of Canberra has been offering English language courses continuously since 1969 and is one of the longest established English centres in Australia. Many alumni of these programs have reached very senior positions in business, diplomacy, politics and education, and are using their English in high-level international forums.

ELICOS at the University of Canberra offers General English, the Pre-Access English Course, the English Access Program, the Postgraduate Preparation Program, and preparation for the IELTS test. English for other Specific Purposes can be offered to sufficient numbers of students. In January, there is a summer school, and a five-week IELTS Preparation course.

Course Length

Courses are taught in ten 5-week modules for the duration of 2007 and beyond.

Particularly for English for Academic Purposes, we recommend you enrol for 20 weeks (two 10-week modules) so you have enough time to prepare thoroughly for your academic studies.
