Taskforce on the University as an Employer of Choice
The Vice-Chancellor recently established the Taskforce on the University as an Employer of Choice to provide advice on ways to make the University an employer of choice for University staff and to develop all staff to ensure the acquisition of skills needed by the University in pursuit of its mission and strategic plan over the next five years.
The membership and Terms of Reference are:
Terms of Reference
- Investigate what attributes will make the University an employer of choice for University staff over the next five years.
- Investigate if impediments exist in the University’s current approach and system for the University to be an employer of choice for all staff and make recommendations on how to overcome them.
- Investigate if impediments exist in the University’s current approach and system for encouraging and recognising the development and training of University staff and make recommendations on how to overcome them:
- The broad professional and personal development of all University staff
- The acquisition of skills and training for general staff
- The acquisition of skills and training for academic staff

The Taskforce has met twice and input from staff will be sought over the coming months. The investigations and recommendations are to be completed for the Vice-Chancellor by November 2003.
