Closing dates for the receipt of applications for Academic Staff Outside Studies Programs to be undertaken in 2003 are:
| Round One | (for programs due to commence on or after 1 December 2002 – Semester 1, 2003) | 29 March 2002 |
| Round Two | (for programs due to commence on or after 1 July 2003 – Semester 2, 2003) | 23 August 2002 |
The new policy and application form for Academic Staff Outside Studies Programs (OSP) and all other documentation pertaining to OSP will shortly be available at http://www.canberra.edu.au/uc/policies/acad/osp.html
Applicants must attach a copy of an OSP eligibility statement (available from the Secretary of the Academic Staff Committee, Sue Ridout, in the Secretariat, extension 2181, email ser@adminserver) to their application which is to be forwarded to the Head of School/Centre in the first instance. Please note that applications should address the University of Canberra Strategic Plan and Flexible Learning policy.
The designated Divisional committee will consider applications shortly after the above deadlines. Applicants need to allow sufficient time for their Head of School/Centre and designated Divisional committee to prepare their recommendations for the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s consideration and approval so that the above deadlines can be met comfortably. All other processes in relation to OSP will be carried out by the business team in the Academic Division.
Changes to the taxation system introduced on 1 July 2000 require all OSP payments made directly to staff to be processed through the Payroll system and taxed at the appropriate marginal rate. It is the responsibility of staff to claim back from the Taxation Office actual expenses incurred.
