STAFF NOTICE 00/02

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR 2000

The following days will be observed as Public Holidays in the Australian
Capital Territory during 2000:

Wednesday 26 January  Australia Day
Monday 20 March       Canberra Day
Friday 21 April       Good Friday
Saturday 22 April     Easter Saturday
Monday 24 April       Easter Monday
Tuesday 25 April      Anzac Day
Monday 12 June        Queen's Birthday
Monday 2 October      Labour Day
Monday 25 December    Christmas Day
Tuesday 26 December   Boxing Day

The University will be closed and classes will not be held on these days.

In accordance with our Enterprise Agreement, any day between the period
Wednesday 27 December to Friday 31 December shall be treated as a day off 
without loss of pay or recreation leave credits.

*Note: Salary cut-off times may change because of the public holiday. The
Salaries Office will notify staff when these times will change.

Sydney Olympic Games/Paralympic Games: Staff assisting with the
Olympic/Paralympic Games will need to apply for leave in the normal way 
(see Staff Notice 99/18).
