Build a word processing mail-merge data source using information recorded on current staff as seen via the on-line staff directory. When a need exists for generating customised letters, mail messages, labels etc, such data sources, used in conjunction with mail-merge templates, are a great productivity enhancement tool.
The format of the mail-merge data source generated will be compatible with Microsoft Word mail-merge templates (Office 97 and higher is recommended - further editing of the data source may be needed for other versions). The format is such that it can also be loaded into a spread-sheet eg. Microsoft Excel.
When matching staff, two selections are possible ie. match staff within a department or match staff within a building.
