International Access Program (IAP)

for International Students

The International Access Program is the University's preparation program for international students who have applied to the University for post-graduate study, but do not meet the University's standard English language requirements (overall band score of 6.5 or better in the IELTS or equivalent). There are many benefits from enrolling in the IAP which include:

  • A clear pathway that will give you express entry to the University of Canberra (in specific Postgraduate Programs)
  • Academic preparation that prepares students for studying at the University of Canberra.
  • Ongoing English language support during your first semester of study at the University of Canberra.
  • Credit for 2 subjects in the chosen Masters program.

IAP Specialisations

  • The Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • The Master of International Business (MIB)
  • The Master of Marketing Communication (MMC)
  • The Master of Marketing Management (MMM)
  • The Master of Information Technology (MIT)
  • Master of International Customs Law and Administration  
  • The Master of Professional Accounting (MPA)
  • The Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM)

Course Duration

15 Teaching Weeks (20 hours per week) as follows:
Subject 1: English for Post Graduate Studies 2 (also known as Masters English)  
Subjects 2 and 3: taken from the relevant Masters program

Continuing Your Studies at the University of Canberra

All students who successfully complete the IAP and who enter the University of Canberra will receive credit in their chosen Masters program for Subjects 2 and 3 (see IAP Subjects page)

After completing the IAP program at the College, it would normally take about 3 semesters at the Universityof Canbera to complete the Masters degree.
