Tertiary Teaching and Learning

In 2012 Tertiary Teaching and Learning[8191] is available for study by two groups of staff:

  • those formally enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Tertiary Teaching where it is the first and compulsory unit; and
  • newly appointed full-time continuing and part-time continuing academic staff with less than two years teaching experience who are completing the Tertiary Teaching and Learning program as a mandatory requirement of probation.

Probationary requirements

Staff in the second group who are studying Tertiary Teaching and Learning as a program for probationary requirements should complete an application form. This form requires the signature of the Dean of your faculty and it should then be sent to UC Human Resources. If you meet the attendance requirements outlined in the Unit Outline, a Certificate of Attendance will be awarded at the end of semester and these two documents - the application form and the Certificate of Attendance - are formal records in the probationary process.

Schedule of sessions for semester 1, 2012

This unit will be delivered in the standard face-to-face teaching mode but it should be noted that:

  • classes do not commence until the second week of semester
  • classes are held in the Hothouse Studio (1C49a) in the Teaching Commons in Building 1 Level C above the Refectory
  • sessions are held on Fridays from 12.30pm – 3.30pm
  • there are no classes in the intra-semester break (week 8)
