Eligibility

Are you eligible?

To be eligible for exchange to UC you must:

  • Be enrolled as a full time student at a UC Exchange Partner University
  • Have successfully completed at least your first year of study at a partner university, but not yet completed your degree.
  • Meet UC's English language requirements.
  • Have a GPA of 4.5 on a 7 point scale (or the equivalent).  This is an average mark (about 2.5 on a 4 point scale).*

*As an academic program it will be expected that you maintain a satisfactory grade point average at UC if you expect to secure an exchange placement longer than 1 semester.  Your grades will be assessed after your first semester to determine your eligibility and extension of your placement.

Things you need to consider

You need to speak to the Student Exchange Officer at your home university about:

  • Their application process to apply for a student exchange
  • How your university selects or nominates students who they send to UC

Laurissa Kenworthy"The thing I first noticed when I came to study at the University of Canberra was the very welcoming atmosphere and how easy it was to make friends. UCs residences were a supportive, fun and active community and the small class sizes allowed you to get to know your lecturers and classmates.

It was awesome to be able to walk around campus and see kangaroos. I had an amazing experience."
