Fees and Costs

You will find that the cost of living in Canberra is very affordable and much cheaper than larger cities such as Melbourne and Sydney.

  • UC recommends that you allow at least AUD $10,000 - 12,000 per semester for living costs. This may vary depending on your budget for rent, food, travel, clothing, recreation, books, telephone and other living expenses.
  • You will need to pay for your airfare to the Australia, accommodation and living expenses while at UC.
  • UC will provide your home university with the documentation for your student visa to study in Australia. You are responsible for obtaining your Australian Student Visa. Please refer to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website for more information.
  • You need to pay the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover fee of $245 (subject to change).
  • You will continue to pay tuition fees at your home university.
  • Keep in mind that wherever you study the currency exchange rate will impact your finances in some way.

Jessica Faith"I really developed an appreciation of other cultures and educational systems when I studied at UC through their Study Abroad and Exchange Program. I really loved the social lifestyle of UCs residences and how fun, supportive and willing people were to help you integrate into the Australian culture.

This was one of the best experiences of my life. I have made so many new friends and seen such amazing things; I wouldnt trade these past few months for anything in the world. This is number 1 on my list of best experiences. UC gives you the best chance to see Australia and experience everything!"
