Enrolment and Study at UC

Study loads and methods

Study exchange students are required to study between 9 – 12 credit points a semester. Most units at UC are valued at 3 credit points, which equate to approximately between 12 and 16 hours of study per week, including class attendance, private study, library research, etc. The actual workload can vary from unit to unit and even from week to week across the university. Generally a full time load is four classes and you are eligible to enrol in any subject offered at UC as long as you meet the subject prerequisites.

Grades awarded at the University of Canberra are as follows:

Grade Grade Name Percentage
HD High Distinction 85 - 100%
DI Distinction 75 - 84%
CR Credit 65 - 74%
P Pass 50 - 64%
PX Conceded Pass 45 - 49%
F Fail 0 - 44%

During your application process and orientation week the Study Abroad and Exchange Manager will assist you with your enrolment.

To gain credit transfer towards your degree at your home university you need to have your subject selection at UC approved by your home university. It is advisable that you discuss and have your study plans approved by your home university before you commence your study at UC.
