Fees and Costs

You will find that the cost of living in Canberra is very affordable and much cheaper than the larger cities plus you will live in a safe clean environment. A Study Abroad Student is responsible for the following fees and costs:

  • UC recommends that you allow at least AUD$6000 per semester for living costs. This may vary depending on your budget for rent, food, travel, clothing, recreation, books, telephone and other living expenses.
  • You will need to pay for your airfare to Australia, accommodation and living expenses while at UC.
  • UC will provide your home university with the documentation for your student visa to study in Australia. You are responsible for obtaining your student visa. Check the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website for further details. 
  • You need to pay the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover fee of $185.
  • You need to pay Fees for one semester study abroad ($8000) see below.
  • Keep in mind that wherever you study the currency exchange rate will impact your finances in some way.
