Graduation Invitation
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The March 2012 graduation ceremonies will be held over 26-28 March, 2012.
The Student Progress and Graduation Office is planning to send out invitations to the March 2012 ceremonies from mid-late January, 2012. If you do not receive an invitation by the end of January you should contact the Student Progress and Graduation Office immediately.
Conditional Invitations
If your invitation has the word "Conditional" printed across it, then your invitation to the ceremony depends on your course completion being certified. Your eligibility to graduate will be confirmed by letter once your final results are known. If you are not confirmed as completing your course, you will be notified of this by email to your UC student email account. If you believe this to be an error in assessment, you must contact the Student Progress and Graduation office immediately.
Respond to Invitation
You must advise whether or not you intend to be present at the Graduation ceremony on MyUC. Do not wait for your examination results before responding to your invitation. If you no longer have access to MyUC, you can email your response to the Student Progress and Graduation Office. If you wish to defer your graduation to a later ceremony round (ie. September 2012), you must email this request to the Student Progress and Graduation Office.
Unable to Attend?
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your award will be conferred in absentia.
Testamurs for students who have requested to confer in absentia will be available for collection from the Student Centre for a few days following the graduation ceremonies. The dates for collection will be confirmed at a later time. Students must present valid photo identification to collect the testamur. Students must also provide authorisation for someone to collect a testamur on their behalf.
Any uncollected testamurs will then be posted to a student’s MyUC mailing address. For students with an international mailing address, the testamurs will be sent by courier. Students must ensure that they correctly register a street address as their mailing address (couriers cannot deliver to PO Boxes) and a contact telephone number at that mailing address.
Students with a domestic mailing address will receive their testamur by registered post.
Your name will appear in the graduation booklet regardless of your attendance at the ceremony.
Course Completion
If your course completion is confirmed once results are released, you will receive a letter of course completion and academic transcript. These will be mailed to you within 2 weeks.
Your course completion status can be viewed on MyUC.
Please note that after Graduation, your access to MyUC will be revoked. Therefore, please ensure you archive (copy to disc/CD) any information that you may require for future reference.
If your course completion is not confirmed in time for the March 2012 ceremonies, you will be assessed for graduation for the next Conferring of Awards ceremonies to be held in September 2012.
