Non-Award fees
Please note that fees for Non-Award units must be paid upfront, in full.
How much will a Non-Award unit cost?
You can find the Annual rate for a Non-award unit (including Study Abroad) at the International Student Tuition Fee or for domestic students at the Domestic Tuition Fees Schedule site. You will need this information to calculate your fees.
The University of Canberra sets its fees according to an annual rate method. The annual rate is the fee that applies to standard full-time enrolment, which is 24 credit points. The final fee charged is based on the proportion of 24 credit points in which a student enrols. For example, if a student only enrols in 3 credit points then their fees will be calculated based on the following equations:
3 credit points/24 standard full-time enrolment = 0.125 (EFTSL - Equivalent Full Time Study Load)
0.125 x annual rate = unit cost.
For example, if you are studying in the Study Abroad Program and you commenced in 2006, your calculations should look something like this:
0.125 x $15200 = AU$1900.00 for this unit (approximately).
In 2006 the University changed its fee charging method. The annual rate that applies in the year a student commences will apply until the student completes the degree (as long as the student completes in minimum time e.g. completes 24 credit point each year). Students who commenced in 2005 or pre-2005 will be charged the 2005 annual rate. The 2008 annual rate will apply to all students who commence study in a degree in 2008. The 2008 rate will apply until the student completes the degree (as long as the student completes in minimum time e.g. completes 24 credit point each year). This is the total course fee that will apply to students who commence study in a degree in 2008.
We also recommend that you read carefully the International Student Fees Policy.
