Deferring Your Offer
If you are thinking of deferring your offer please read the following rules and guidelines about deferring your offer.
- You are eligible to defer your offer if you have received an offer into a Bachelors degree course.
- You cannot defer an offer into a Postgraduate course
- You may only defer your offer once.
- You may defer an offer to a future admission period
- The maximum period you can defer for is 1 year

Q. How do I defer my offer?
You are able to defer your offer online. Go to the online deferral form.
Q. How do I know that I have successfully deferred my offer?
The University will contact you by email confirming that you have deferred your offer.
Q. How do I take my deferred offer up at the end of my deferral period?
Admissions will send you an offer into the course that you deferred from. Please ensure that your postal address details and email details remain current. You will be given one month to reply to the offer and accept or decline the offer. If you do not respond within the timeframe specified, your offer will lapse.
You will need to accept this offer within one month of the date of this offer letter.
Q. Are there any fees associated with deferring?
There are no fees to defer or to take up your deferred offer. Please note that if your offer has lapsed or you wish to apply for a different course, you will have to reapply through UAC (Universities Admissions Centre) or by applying directly to University of Canberra. Please note that there is a fee for applications through UAC.
Q. Can I earn credit points towards my degree by working during my Gap year?
Our Gap Year Plus program allows students to gain academic credit at the University of Canberra for demonstrated learning that occurred over the course of their Gap experience.
