China	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Senior Middle School Certificate with an average of 75% (i.e. 'B' or better).	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised university with satisfactory grades.
Fiji and the South Pacific	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Fiji 7th Form Certificate - aggregate of 200 in 4 subjects Fiji 6th Form Certificate - aggregate of 220 in 4 subjects.	You must complete the University of the South Pacific Foundation Year program or the first year of a bachelor degree at the University of the South Pacific with a minimum of pass grades.
Hong Kong and Macau	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	A levels 2 x Ds or better. O levels 3 x Cs or better. Indonesia	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	SMU 111 - average of 6.5 in academic subjects. SMU 11 will be considered on an individual basis.	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades.
Japan	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Year 12 - successful completion of Kotogakko year 3 (80%)	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades.

South Korea	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	In the Senior High School Diploma an overall grade average of 3.0 or higher. NOTE: It is recommended that students from South Korea complete an approved course in English language in Australia before commencing academic studies.	Higher School Leaving Certificate with a grade average of 5.
Malaysia	Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.	A levels 2 x Ds or better. O levels 3 x Cs or better. Or qualifications deemed equivalent. STPM 3 x Es or D and E or forecast equivalent. SPM an average of 4B/5C. Malaysia Independent Chinese Secondary Schools Unified Examinations (UEC) 70% aggregate score. UAI of 59 or higher in the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Ontario Secondary School Diploma with at least six Ontario Academic Courses and a minimum grade average of 50%.	A levels 2 x Cs or better. A levels 3 x Ds or better in the Cambridge Higher School Certificate, the British GCE or the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM). Malaysia Independent Chinese Secondary Schools Unified Examinations (UEC), minimum of B5 in each subject, not including Chinese language or Bahasa Malaysia. Mexico	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Bachillerato Technico overall score of 80%.	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades.
Pakistan	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Higher Secondary 10+2 qualifications 50% or higher Higher Secondary 11 with 60%, or better in Year 10.	Completion of a recognised two year university degree.
Papua New Guinea	Students are required to prove English to obtain a student visa.	Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.	Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Philippines	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Satisfactory completion of the High School Diploma - 65% National Secondary Aptitude Test - 65%	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades.
Saudi Arabia	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Year 12 overall average of 55% Year 11 overall average of 65%	Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades.
Singapore	Not required for Singapore nationals.	A levels 2 x Ds or better. O levels 3 x Cs or better. Or qualifications deemed equivalent.	2 x C level or 3 x D level passes or higher in the Singapore Cambridge GCE 'A' level examination, or A diploma from a Polytechnic in Singapore.
Sri Lanka	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	A levels 2 x Ds or better. O levels 3 x Cs or better. Or qualifications deemed equivalent.	The Sri Lanka General Certificate of Education with A levels 2 x Cs or better. A levels 3 x Ds or better.
Taiwan	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Senior Middle 3 with C grades in 4 subjects. Senior Middle 2 with B grades in 4 subjects.	Completion of an accredited two year Junior College Program, OR Completion of at least one year of study at a recognised University with satisfactory grades. NOTE: It is recommended that students from Taiwan complete an approved course in English language in Australia before commencing academic studies.
Thailand	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC and 6.5 for admission to UC.	Matayon 6 with a GPA of 2.0 or 45%	Completion of Matayon 6, Certificate of Secondary Education or Por Wor, Certificate of Vocation Education with an average of 60% or GPA of 2.4.
USA	None required.	A Composite SAT I score of 950.	A Composite SAT I score of 1100, or 1050 where Advanced Placement Aggregate equals 9-20.

Foundation studies	Credit average in English.	Preparatory (foundation) courses offered by Australian institutions not listed below will be considered individually.	Successful completion of foundation studies with a UAI equivalency of 75 or higher.
University of Canberra College	Students are required to obtain an IELTS of 5.5 for admission to UCC.		Successful completion leads to direct entry into the second year of a University of Canberra degree program.
Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT)	Satisfactory completion of the CIT Certificate IV 'English for Academic Purposes' or CIT Certificate IV 'Spoken and Written English' (including 'Further Study' module) or other qualifications on a case by case basis.	Foundation studies with a UAI equivalency of 59.	Successful completion of a CIT Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma.
UNSW Foundation	C grade achieved in English subject.	Minimum overall grade average of 55%.	Minimum overall grade average of 65%.
Mature age students	Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.	Mature age students (21 years of age at the start of the program) may be admitted without meeting the formal academic qualifications. Students must meet the relevant English language requirements.

Some courses may require an IELTS score higher than 6.5.

Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Programs

To satisfy the admission requirements for postgraduate award courses you must have completed a degree from a recognised tertiary institution. The University of Canberra will regard qualifications from approved university institutions as equivalent to Australian qualifications in accordance with the assessment of the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).
