For University Staff
Student Ambassador Program
General description
SAs are employed as casual staff to assist the Marketing team with various domestic recruitment events and activities throughout the year, primarily promoting UC to prospective students (typically grades 10 – 12).
At the beginning of the year, SAs are trained in general UC knowledge, however, the Program consists of a variety of students from different faculties/disciplines so they are also strongly encouraged to call on their personal experience and perspective of UC.
SA Training
SAs undertake full training at the beginning of each semester which involves
- campus familiarisation
- understanding the main issues faced by prospective or new students
- available student support programs at UC
- O-Week or Open Day brief
SAs also receive a Reference Guide consisting of general University and faculty information to refer to throughout the year, plus a selection of Marketing publications and University brochures.
SA Wages
SAs are charged at a flat rate of $28/hour per Ambassador. It is a requirement that shifts are a minimum of three hours.
Booking Requests
When considering submitting a request, please be aware that SAs are current students with varied availability and therefore, while every attempt will be made to fill the shift, assistance cannot always be guaranteed. For this reason, it is always best to submit bookings as early as possible.
Please note that requests for Student Ambassadors must be received at least 10 working days before the required date.
