From Monday 20 June 2011 all buildings on campus will close at 6:30pm. Staff and student access between 6:30pm to 10pm, to all buildings, will be by swipe card only (your ID card) and you will automatically have access to all external doors across the campus. After 10pm access will revert back to your normal building access.

You will need a valid UC 1 Card

Staff and students will need to have a valid UC1 card for swipe entry. If you do not have a valid card the student centre in Building 1 will be able to provide one to you. Security officers will be on hand to assist staff and students if they are having trouble entering the buildings, security may be contacted on Ext.2222 (24hrs/day).

Computer Labs, Functions & Out of Hours Teaching

The computer labs in Building 7 and 11 will continue to have 24-hour access for staff and students and the library commons will remain open until 2am, both with swipe card access afterhours.

If a function is scheduled after 6:30pm where members of the public are attending and require the external doors to stay open, please provide Security with 24 hours notice to program the access doors (security@canberra.edu.au).

Teaching staff that require their students to have after hour access to buildings, (access after 10pm) will need to request access rights from the Security Office. To gain access rights, please email the Security Office with the unit name and number, your name, and the laboratories/rooms that the students require access to and the length of access required (Semester 1, 2, year-long or any special requirements). 

Security

At night, Security Officers are available to escort students and staff to car parks and residences. This service is available as by phoning Ext.2222.

If you observe persons acting suspiciously within your area, please make contact with Security immediately on x2222, all hours for immediate assistance.

To report thefts contact the Security Office during business hours on x2050.

Ring 0 - 131444 if police attendance is required.
