Accommodation FAQ

Q. I'm interested in living on-campus. When should I apply?
A. You should apply for on-campus accommodation with the University of Canberra Village as soon as you feel that you would like to study at the University of Canberra. The Village is run by Campus Living Villages on behalf of the University.

Q. Do I need to organise accommodation for when I arrive in Canberra?
A. Yes. If you have not organised accommodation for when you arrive in Canberra you need to organise this as soon as possible.

Q. What if I have been given a room on campus?
A. If you have been allocated a room on campus, you can move into your room on or after the check in date.

If you plan to arrive before the check-in date (see your offer letter) you must notify the University of Canberra Village to arrange for an early check-in. Please note that Campus Living Villages only permit early checkin before Semester 1.

Q. What if I would like to look for off-campus accommodation?
A.
You can visit our off-campus accommodation page which provides a list of temporary/short term accommodation, rental property, share accommodation and homestay.

Q. What should I do if my flight is delayed?

A. When you submit a New Student Pick up request form you will receive a confirmation of receipt within two days provided all the details of your pick up have been submitted. This confirmation email will include the University Representatives contact number and further information on your pick up. Please contact the University Representative if you find out that you flight has been delayed.

Q. What if I dont arrive on time or miss my flight?

A. If you arrive after hours or by some chance you miss us or we miss you due to sudden travel changes, please go straight to your booked accommodation. You can hire a taxi to take you to the Hostel/UC Residences by telling the taxi driver to take you to the name of the place you have booked. (You can also ask the airport staff to assist you with making telephone calls). The cost for the taxi fare from the airport to any of the accommodation is approximately A$40.

Please remember to contact the International Student Advisor, Eda Cevik who is located in the Student Centre in Building 1 and notify her of your arrival as soon as you can. The Student Centre is open from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Thursday and between 9 am till 4:30 pm on Fridays.
