Research Education Program
The Research Education Program
The Research Education Program at the University of Canberra is an innovative program designed to assist candidates in postgraduate research programs to meet the objectives of their research and academic requirements for the relevant degree and to acquire generic skills and attributes for professional and academic life.
The Research Education Program provides an individualised, flexible approach to research education.
As part of its approach to research training the University has nominated six key learning areas of postgraduate research education. Core capacities for research graduates have been identified in each key area. All candidates are expected to acquire these capabilities as outcomes of their research program. The core capacities are set out in the policy statement Generic skills and attributes of UC graduates from higher degree by research programs.
The foundation of the Research Education Program is the concept of the personal Learning Plan.
