Intermission

Intermission is the approved suspension of studies for a minimum of one, up to a maximum of two semesters during candidature. You must complete one semester of enrolment in a research degree before being eligible for intermission.

International Students must contact the International Student Advisors  at the Student Centre to confirm compliance with their VISA conditions (international.students@canberra.edu.au).

Scholarship holders must contact their scholarship liaison officer regarding the terms and conditions of their scholarship contract, and possible implications of intermission.

Intermission should be applied for in advance and is subject to approval by your Supervisor and the Associate Dean Research/Director of your Faculty/Research Centre.

Please complete the Application for Intermission Form and submit to the Research Students' Office via email (postgrad.research@canberra.edu.au).

The Research Students' Office will provide you with written advice on the outcome of your application for intermission.

Returning from Intermission

On return from intermission you will need to contact the IT ServiceDesk (servicedesk@canberra.edu.au or (02) 6201 5500) and request a new password to gain access to MyUC. You will also be required to enrol by completing the Unit Registration Form (which can be found on the Forms Page).
