Government funded Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) are available to domestic higher degree by research PhD students.

Talented and motivated individuals with appropriate qualifications are now invited to apply for PhD Scholarship across a range of research disciplines including Science, Health and Technology, Social Sciences, the Humanities and Creative Arts.

Applicants with a First Class Honours degree from an Australian University are guaranteed a scholarship of $23,728 (2012 APA rate) tax free.

Talented and motivated individuals with appropriate qualifications are now invited to apply for PhD scholarships across a range of research disciplines including Science, Health and Technology, Social Sciences, the Humanities and Creative Arts.

Applicants with a First Class Honours degree from an Australian University are guaranteed a scholarship of at least $22,500 tax free, with generous top-ups for the most outstanding candidates.

Murray-Darling Basin Futures

Collaborative Research Network Doctoral Scholarships

Murray-Darling Basin Futures is an ambitious, cross disciplinary research program at the University of Canberra tackling one of the nation’s most enduring and complex challenges in the Murray-Darling Basin. We are investing $13.7M, including $6.3M in funding from the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, over the next three years.

Successful applicants will help UC partner with ANU, CSU, USQ, CSIRO, ABARES and key government agencies on the following priority research themes:

  • Drivers of change- understanding and integrating the economic, social, health and environmental drivers of change in the Murray-Darling Basin
  • Environmental watering and allocation - understanding and optimizing watering requirements, biodiversity, ecosystem services and productive water uses in the Murray-Darling Basin
  • Better governance, planning and management - innovative approaches for the Murray-Darling Basin
  • Synthesis - integrating water, communities and environment

We are offering 11 generous PhD scholarships complete with a tailored professional development program, the opportunity to link with government agencies and joint supervision with our partners. Relevant research fields include: Environmental Science, Social and Economic Modelling, Public Health, Public Policy and Urban and Regional Planning.
