International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

The University of Canberra is allocated an International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) each year. Applicants must be commencing a PhD. Candidates who are allocated an IPRS are not required to pay their tuition fees or Overseas Student Health Cover. IPRS awardees may also be eligible to receive the prestigious W J Weeden Scholarship. W J Weeden Postgraduate Research Scholarship

This Scholarship is generously funded by the family of the late W J Weeden. The PhD scholarship provides exemption from tuition fees for international students, offers a stipend (living allowance) equivalent to the Australian Postgraduate Award ($22,860 per annum 2011 rate, tax free and indexed annually) and is available for the duration of the course (up to 3 years).
This scholarship is open to domestic and international students.

W J Weeden Postgraduate Research Scholarship - Top-Up

This prestigious award is generously funded by the family of the late W J Weeden. This PhD scholarship is available as a 'top-up' for the candidate with the highest prior academic record who is selected for a major postgraduate award. The W J Weeden Scholarship provides an additional $8,000 per annum to an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA), or International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and is available for the duration of the course (up to 3 years). This scholarship is open to domestic and international students.

Institute for Applied Ecology Doctoral Scholarship Top-Up

The Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE) Doctoral Scholarship Top-Up is competitively awarded as a 'top-up' of up to $10,000 per annum for IAE PhD candidates who hold a stipend from any other source. This stipend could be from a University of Canberra awarded scholarship (e.g. APA), an employment scholarship or an international scholarship.
To be awarded the IAE scholarship top-up, all applicants need to be enrolled at the University of Canberra as a full-time PhD student and have a project and a supervisor at the IAE. (For information about potential projects, click here).
