Higher Degrees by Research: Policy and Procedures (the Gold Book)The Gold Book sets out University policy and practice relating to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Professional Doctorate and Masters by Research degrees. It includes policy on supervision of research students, admission, progress, examination and completion. It also sets out the policy context for research training both nationally and at the University of Canberra. Relevant forms and documents are being made available as appendices to the Gold Book. Please note: that although the University of Canberra has undergone a restructure, all policies in the Gold Book are still relevant, however some names such as names of Committees may have changed. In accordance with Academic Board resolution, this document came into effect on 1 January 2003 for students commencing studies in a course after 1 January 2003. Requirements also apply to continuing students who commenced their enrolment before 2003 except where otherwise indicated or required by University legislation or policy.
