Welcome to the University of Canberra Polytechnic
The recently announced University of Canberra Polytechnic will now develop into a significantly strengthened educational institution called University of Canberra Institute of Technology. Collaboration between the University of Canberra, the ACT Government and the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) has led to an agreement to strengthen the ideas underpinning the Polytechnic.
This new institution will offer to the Canberra community and its surrounding region professional qualifications at the Diploma and Associate Degree level that are relevant to the needs of today’s employers and tomorrow's occupations. Given the expertise of the two partners collaboration will bring together the best of Vocational Education and Higher education and give rise to courses that will provide students with both the practical skills and applied knowledge required to enhance their careers as well as providing pathways to undergraduate study at the University of Canberra.
The University of Canberra Institute of Technology will be launched in 2013 and will be located on the University of Canberra’s Bruce campus. The students will benefit from all the services and facilities of the University.
The foundation courses for the University of Canberra Institute of Technology will be offered through the University of Canberra College in 2012.
