Welcome to the University of Canberra (UC) Quality and Improvement website. Quality management at the University of Canberra (UC) is articulated in our strategic plan. Step 3 of our strategic plan commits the University to implement a Quality Cycle and Framework to assure and improve continuously the quality of what we do.

Quality at UC is coordinated through the Registrar's portfolio. Under the direction of the Registrar, the Manager of Quality and Improvement is responsible for implementation and ongoing enhancement of the University’s Quality and Standards Framework. The manager provides advice and support to the University on a wide range of issues relating to quality assurance and improvement in governance, learning and teaching, research, internationalisation, engagement and administrative support. Governance and oversight of quality and standards is provided by the Academic Board.

Some of the key responsibilities of the quality area include the following;

• Development, implementation and continuous enhancement of the Quality and Standards Framework
• Provision of advice on quality assurance issues, based on the outcome of reviews, key performance indicators and student feedback
• Coordination in the development and review of the Capability Plans
• Coordination in the development and review of the faculty and administrative unit Operational Plans
• Coordination of external quality audits by AUQA, including post audit follow up requirements
• Coordination of various special purpose reviews, aimed at improving quality and outcomes
• Oversight of all stakeholder surveys including; students, staff and employer surveys which are undertaken to track and improve stakeholder satisfaction
• Consultation with faculties, administrative units and various student groups
• Benchmarking initiatives for improvement of the University
• Coordination of the UC student forum, which is comprised of a student body who are interested in quality and improvement
