Meet the Psychology Team

Vicki de Prazer (Senior Psychologist)

Vicki has an interest in performance excellence in demanding environments. Her practice is informed by her experience in integrating coaching psychology, clinical experience and expertise to collaboratively work with clients to optimise performance and wellbeing. Vicki can work with you addressing stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, family issues, confidence building, moving towards self actualisation. Vicki also offers hypnosis for mental health and performance concerns.

An interest in the mind- body philosophies and cognitive science has seen Vicki achieve high regard as an expert in performance psychology; having contributed to three Australian Olympic Games and one New Zealand campaign, also establishing a successful national and International consultancy. Vicki seeks to be innovative and inspirational in supporting excellence, wellness and resilience so that individuals are happy and healthy in the pursuit of their goals.

Vicki is available for appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Stuart Cathcart

Stuart has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (University of Wollongong), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology (University of Adelaide), and a PhD in Psychology (University of South Australia). He is a Registered Psychologist and a Sport and Exercise Psychologist. 
Stuart has over 20 years of experience in a variety of settings including hospitals, university teaching and research, community mental health, vocational rehabilitation, elite sport institutes, and private practice. He has over 50 peer reviewed publications on topics of clinical and sport psychology.
Stuart’s counselling techniques include Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy.

Stuart is available for appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Jessica Chiu

Jessica Chiu is a clinical psychologist with experience in both public and private sectors.  She has worked in mental health settings with young people and has additional experience in private practice with young people and adults.  Jessica recognises the importance of providing a person-centred approach.  She works collaboratively with clients to better understand their difficulties, draw on existing strengths and develop strategies to cope effectively with on-going challenges.  She has a keen interest in supporting students to adjust to challenges associated with university study. Jessica uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Jessica is available for appointments on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Ross Sutherland

Ross has been providing welfare and psychological services in ACT independent and government schools to young people, staff and parents/carers for more than a decade. He is committed to inclusion in the education space and is neurodiversity affirming – working with people to discover their strengths, show self-compassion, and build great lives. A generally registered Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society, Ross is committed to evidence-based practice to support clients. He uses frameworks such Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and mixed modalities to support client needs. Ross can help with procrastination and goal-setting, anxiety and depression, family and friendship difficulties, managing stress, and many other difficulties. Ross is approachable, fun and collaborative as he encourages his clients to flourish.

Ross completed a Bachelor of Psychology and a Bachelor of Community Welfare and Counselling at Monash University, and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) Honours at ANU. He is currently completing a Master of Education (Special Education) to better support students with accessibility needs. He is keenly concerned with living sustainably, including with mental wellness.

Michelle Linmore

Michelle is a registered psychologist with more than 20 years of experience providing counselling, support groups and psychoeducation for individuals and couples within private practice, community agencies, universities and government settings.  Michelle enjoys working with clients to create the changes they want in their lives and is experienced in assisting with stress management, identity issues, motivation, grief, trauma, chronic pain, infertility, sexuality, parenting and relationship issues as well as anxiety and depression.  Michelle works in a respectful client-led way using a range of evidence-based approaches including brief solution focused therapy, emotion focused therapy, acceptance commitment therapy and EMDR.

Emily Phillips

Emily gained her Master of Clinical Psychology degree at the University of New South Wales, and has worked as a clinical psychologist for 20 years in both public health and private practice settings. She is fully registered and endorsed with the Psychology Board of Australia, and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.

Emily can provide assessment and therapy to address concerns such as depression, stress, anxiety disorders (e.g. social anxiety, excessive worry, panic attacks, phobias and performance anxiety), post-traumatic stress disorder, difficulty adjusting to major life changes, grief and relationship problems.

Emily uses approaches such as cognitive-behaviour therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing, adapting these flexibly according to the needs and preferences of individual clients. She strives to create a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere in which concerns can be addressed collaboratively, and is committed to giving the best of herself and her experience to every client, in every session.

Emily is available for appointments on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
