Canberra Specialist Medical Centre

CSMC external view

As of February 2019, the University of Canberra is home to a new state-of-the-art multi-purpose medical facility.

Housed in the University’s Health Precinct on Bruce campus this facility complements the existing health services offered which include the Health Hub and the University of Canberra Hospital, increasing UC’s student-led allied health service footprint to the community.

Major tenants include the Icon Cancer CentreUC allied health services and QScan bringing together leading educators, researchers, students and healthcare providers under one roof to offer specialized services to the local community. University of Canberra students can choose to participate in work-integrated learning opportunities, enriching their student experience and the sector.

The Icon Cancer Centre is a welcome addition to Canberra, with a lack of local services making patients travel interstate to seek appropriate treatment. With cancer services being one of the ACT's fastest-growing health care demands, a local comprehensive cancer care provider provides patients with the choice to receive quality cancer treatment closer to home.
