Danny Bhoy shines in Canberra performance

7 March 2011: Scottish comedian Danny Bhoy has proved again that @Reply was correct with their iconic lyrics “everyone knows the stars come out at night” and Danny certainly does shine.
In his recent show- Messenger (Please Do Not Shoot) at the Canberra Theatre, he delighted the audience with his insightful, quick wit, which can only be matched by the prestigious work of Eddie Izzard.
It was a respectable, educated routine that was not so low-brow as to bore the audience but had enough variety to include everyone.
And everyone was indeed included from the young to the old. Many were unable to catch their breath as Danny would send yet another wave of comedy at the audience. His use of politically incorrect references were as refreshing as his historical references were proof of a cultured mind.
His use of the stage and interaction with the audience was very well practiced and yet radiated an ease and spontaneity that would be unmatchable by any other comedian. He was a true delight and a wonderfully entertaining person to watch.
5 out of 5 stars
