13 April 2011: Canberra born and bred student Juliette Taylor says she’s enjoying the sea change, after graduating with a Bachelor of Advertising and Marketing Communication from the University of Canberra last month, and making the move to Sydney.

The 22-year-old secured a job through the Communications Council Graduate Program and is working as an Account Executive in advertising agency ‘Lavender’ in Sydney’s CBD.

Ms Taylor says she loves her job and living in Sydney but enjoyed coming home for her graduation.

She says she misses her fellow students and the uni lifestyle most.

“I was taught by some fantastic lecturers and made a great group of friends,” she said.

She says the highlight of her degree was taking part in an exchange program with San Diego State University in California last year.

“I really wanted to experience studying overseas and embrace a different culture, and California seemed like the ideal place to go. I had an amazing time and made a solid group of life-long friends from all over the world.”

“I was lucky enough to travel all the way up the Californian coast, climb the Mayan Pyramids in Coba, Mexico, during Spring Break, travel to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon and attend the famous music festival Coachella. I finished my time in the US with a trip to New York before heading for Europe to travel around the UK, Paris and Morocco before heading home to complete my final semester of study at the University of Canberra.”

Ms Taylor plans to return overseas in a few years time and try her luck in New York.
