5 August 2010: A new look concourse featuring a network of grass covered roof canopies with openings to accommodate existing trees has won the major prize in the University of Canberra Campus Design Ideas Competition.

Entrants were required to submit plans for a new concourse with the $30,000 prize for the best design taken out by West Australian- and Italian-based architects MORQ.

The MORQ team also won the $15,000 ‘Siting of Key Buildings’ category, with an entry that prominently placed key buildings on College Street to give the University “a distinctive public address”.
