UC meets with community to discuss education needs of the south coast region

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canberra, Professor Roger Dean, together with his advisory committee, are meeting in Merimbula for two days at the end of this week to discuss the current trends in higher education and how the University can continue to service the needs of local business and the community on the south coast.

Whilst in Merimbula, Professor Dean and his colleagues will meet with local community, education and business leaders as well as former students of the University in a community forum on Thursday 16 November, 2006.   The forum will be held at the Black Dolphin Resort Motel in Merimbula.

There are already strong links between the South coast community and the University of Canberra, and Professor Dean is keen to continue to build on these linkages.

"South coast students are consistently high achievers at the University of Canberra and their input is highly valued by the whole University community," Professor Dean said.
