Take a UC Course

The University of Canberra has a deep history of providing high quality education for professionals. Founded in 1968 as the Canberra College of Advanced Education, UC aims to achieve a top 100 world-ranking as a young University by 2018 (based on its high quality teaching, research and engagement). The University has received the Good University’s Guide (maximum) five-star rating for graduate employment for 12 consecutive years and a five-star rating for graduate outcomes for the last three.  UC’s main campus is in Canberra, with approximately 13,500 students, 69,300 alumni and 2,200 staff.

Like UC, Holmesglen has, since 1982, been working with industry partners to create courses that combine theory with simulated practice, industry experience and practical projects. Together with their small classes, experienced and supportive teachers, this winning combination has earned Holmesglen the reputation for graduating work ready, highly skilled employees.

Holmesglen is a leading vocational education provider in Victoria, with over 600 courses and 50,000 students. Today it has campuses at Chadstone, Moorabbin, Waverley and the Melbourne City.

Holmesglen also has a partnership with Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) in Brisbane, which enables Holmeslgen and UC to deliver selected degrees at the MSIT campus.

UC co-located with Holmesglen in Melbourne in 2013, the first partnership of its kind in Australia to offer more degree choices and direct access to Commonwealth funded programs in Melbourne.

Smaller class sizes

Holmesglen and the University of Canberra believe in smaller class sizes, so you get the personal attention and support you need to succeed. When you choose to study a degree with the University of Canberra you will be part of a small and friendly Melbourne campus at Holmesglen.

You can now seamlessly transition with full credit from a diploma or advanced diploma to an extensive range of university degrees in Melbourne or interstate (Canberra and Brisbane). Best of all, degrees for domestic students will be Commonwealth funded from semester 1, so your course is substantially subsidised by the Australian Government and your student contribution amount can be deferred through the HECS-HELP system.

Direct entry

For semester 1, 2014, you can apply for University of Canberra degrees in Melbourne AND Brisbane via the UC online application form.
