UC students work with ACT Health

26 September; University of Canberra students have joined forces with ACT Health in working together to raise awareness about the dangers of the lack of physical activity in those aged 18 plus.

Find thirty. It’s not a big exercise campaign, aims to reinforce the idea that for adults just 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most days of the week is needed for good health.

ACT Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher will view the campaign material and present certificates to the University of Canberra advertising and marketing students who developed promotional material for the Find thirty campaign.

“Four out of 10 adults in the ACT are insufficiently active for good health and some activities conceived by these students have informed campaign directions and may be implemented by the ACT Find thirty project team,” Ms Gallagher said.

University of Canberra advertising course convenor, Richard Buddle said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner the ACT Health in our collective roles to serve Canberra and its surrounding communities to increase awareness of the type and frequency of physical activity necessary for good health. It also exemplifies the ongoing commitment we have as Australia’s Capital University to harness our research for the improvement of culture and society.
