23 September: In the academic equivalent of Australian Idol, University of Canberra research students will present interesting research topics – in language we can all understand.
The Inaugural Boiler House Lay Seminars will feature topics from re-imaging suburbs: Canberra after the fires, passion, performance & Porsches: planning for success, the world of fingerprint detection and too much sand kills rivers.
Each student has 10 minutes to impress the judges. A judging panel will select the presentation which best conveys research to the non – research community.
The presentations include:
• Faster, higher stronger

• Passion, performance & Porsches: planning for success
• Trust me! I know what I’m talking about
• Modelling the workers of tomorrow
• Artificial intelligence: powering performance in cycling
• Wandering around museums
• Too much sand kills rivers
• Corporate Law
