16 July: CUe FM, the University of Canberra’s radio station, will become the first campus radio station in the ACT to simultaneously internet stream and narrowcast when it is launched today.
The station will be officially launched as part of O-Day, the height of celebrations at the University of Canberra’s O-Week. The addition of internet streaming will make the station, previously only available within 5 kilometres of the university, available to anyone anywhere.
Michael de Percy, lecturer in government-business relations and president of CUeFM, hopes that making the station more accessible will bring the University community closer together and allow the pockets of talent and knowledge on campus to exchange ideas.
"Setting a wage that allows everyone who wishes to work to find paid employment must be the core aim of the Fair Pay Commisson. Pricing workers out of jobs should be strenuously avoided.”
