Women as leaders in sport and business on agenda at UC
Some of the capital’s most successful women will discuss their experiences and the opportunities for women in sport and business at the University of Canberra TODAY.
Hosted by the University of Canberra, Capital Football and RSM Bird Cameron and MC’d by Canberra United star Grace Gill, the event will hear insights from four leading figures from sport and business in Canberra.
The science behind exercise and ways to develop women as leaders will also be discussed.
The expert panelists are:
Senator the Honourable Kate Lundy - Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister; Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs; Senator for the Australian Capital Territory; Chair of the Canberra United Management Committee.
Jane Meade – Chartered Accountant and Partner with RSM Bird Cameron. Ms Meade offers insights into the unique challenges and rewards facing a woman in the traditionally male dominated professional services industry.
Kate Pumpa – Assistant Professor in Sports Studies at the University of Canberra. Dr Pumpa is an exercise physiologist and sports dietitian who has worked for elite rugby teams, researches women’s health and sport performance, and has a regular slot on ABC666.
Heather Reid - CEO, Capital Football and Canberra United. Heather will share her insights on her role as a woman involved in male dominated football and running a small business with a focus on sport.
