Author/Illustrator FilesAs part of our service to researchers, the Lu Rees Archives collects materials about authors and illustrators of Australian children's literature. With these materials we create research files. These files contain items such as articles, reviews, publicity material, transcripts, biographical and bibliographical notes, artwork and manuscripts. In total, there are 29 categories of materials that we try to collect on authors and illustrators. These are listed on our Author-Illustrator Index Contents Sheets (Guides to Research Materials)We arrange and describe the contents of each file using Encoded Archival Description. The end result is that we have a contents sheet for each file in HTML format that can be viewed in a web browser. Currently we have over 300 files. We also have many pending files, which are files we have started collecting material for but for which we have not yet created a contents sheet. Some of the content sheets we have added as links to the Author-Illustrator list. This is a trial project for us, and we will continue to add the contents sheets if the response we get is positive. Items listed in these contents sheets can be requested, and will be supplied on a cost recovery basis. Please see Access and Services or Contact Details for more information or addresses. Because the Archives is a non-profit organisation and is only staffed part-time, currency cannot be guaranteed for all our files, although we do make an effort to update them as we are able. Item TypesA list of Item Types of the material we collect for Author/Illustrator files is also available.
