The Lu Rees Archives of Australian Children's Literature is sharing unique treasures in its exhibition, 'In Collaboration', during Children's Book Week on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th of August. The work of six authors, illustrators, publishers and book designers reveal their inspirational collaboration in six stunning picture books for all ages.
Margaret Hamilton AM, publisher of 'My Dog' on exhibition, is opening the event. Her life is a passionate affair with children's books, as children's librarian, bookseller and publisher. One of Australia's first independent children's publishers, her children's books have won many awards and for her support of children's books, she has won many awards including an AM on Australia Day 2008. Through her efforts, the Children's Book Council of Australia raised $1,000,000 to fund the Book Council's awards in perpetuity.
