Document Delivery Brochure (pdf 174kb)
What is the Interlibrary Loans / Document Delivery Service (ILL/DocDel)?
This service provides access to materials not available in the University of Canberra (UC) Library collections.
- Interlibrary Loans are books, videos, theses, etc. borrowed from another library
- Document Delivery is the process of obtaining print or electronic copies of journal articles, book chapters, conference papers, etc. which do not need to be returned
Who Can Use this Service?
Any UC Library member may use this service.
There are three types of request:
- UC staff and post-graduate student requests related to teaching, research and assignments (costs are funded by the Library or another nominated University centre or unit)
- Requests from UC staff and students which incur charges. These include all requests from undergraduate, graduate diploma and certificate students and those requests from staff and postgraduate students which are not work or research related
- Requests from affiliate members including community, alumni and Reciprocal Scheme borrowers which incur charges. An administrative fee of $25 is charged in addition to regular charges for each request
Place a Request
Items available from the Library can not be requested. Please check the Library Catalogue or Electronic Journals before placing a Request.
High demand items or those on restricted loan, entire issues or volumes of journals and rare books are not available through ILL/DocDel. Other restrictions may apply to certain items, depending on the policies of the lending library.
