Journal articles

Journal and newspaper articles contain current and specific information, e.g. reports on recent research. Most academic journals are peer-reviewed. Search these databases for journal and newspaper articles. Databases may provide fulltext articles; abstracts of articles or citation details only.

• CSIRO Publishing Journals Fulltext of Australian science journals 
• ASFA 1: Biological Sciences and Living Resources (CSA Illumina)
• ASFA3:Aquatic Pollution and Environmental Quality (CSA Illumina) 
• Environmental Sciences & Pollution Mgmt (CSA Illumina) Collection of databases that can be searched together including: Ecology Abstracts, Pollution Abstracts, and Sustainability Abstracts
• Endanger (Threatened Species in Australia: A Select Bibliography) (via Informit)
• Environmental Abstracts (EVA) (via Informit) Coverage: Australian environment  
• GeoRef (via EBSCO) Coverage: Earth sciences.

  To search for very recent information use GeoRef In Process. To search together GeoRef & GeoRef In Process select GeoRef and on the search screen select Choose Database at top of screen, tick GeoRef In Process box, and then OK. 

• GreenFILE (via EBSCO) Indexes all aspects of human impact to the environment 
• Agricola: NAL Catalog. The catalog of the National Agricultural Library (US) indexes journal articles and books on all aspects of agriculture including environmental management
• Australian Heritage Bibliography (AHB) (via Informit). Covers Australian natural & cultural environment
• Leisure, Recreation & Tourism (via CAB) Coverage: Environmental issues
• Earth & Planetary Science journals & Environmental Science journals. (Science Direct) Abstracts, with fulltext for UC subscribed titles
• SCIRUS search: biometry & ecology; sampling & natural resource management 
• Web of Science (via ISI Web of Knowledge) Citation research index
