Author Biographies

• Austlit: the Resource for Australian Literature Includes biographical information and index to works and criticism of Australian authors.  
• Literature Resource Center (via Infotrac) Mostly fulltext. Includes author biographies, work overviews, and literary criticism.

Journal Articles

Journal articles contain current and specific information, e.g. reports on recent research. Most academic journals are peer-reviewed. Search these databases for journal and newspaper articles. Databases may provide fulltext articles, abstracts of articles or citation details only.

• Book Review Index Plus (via Infotrac) Comprehensive index to book reviews, with some fulltext articles
• JSTOR Includes 80 journals relating to Language and Literature
• Communication Studies (SAGE) Includes fulltext of 16 communications journals
• A+ Education (via Informit) Australian education database with some fulltext after 2000. Includes articles on Children's Literature
• Australian Library & Information Science Abstracts (ALISA) (via Informit) Index to Australian articles on library science, including literature
• Education Research Theses Index to Australian theses in Education, with some links to text
• Academic Search Premier (via EBSCOhost) Mostly fulltext. Multidisciplinary database which includes book reviews and criticism
• Emerald Fulltext. Multidisciplinary database of peer-reviewed journals.
• Multidisciplinary databases Collection of databases covering a range of subjects.

Newspaper Articles

• Newsbank Newspapers Australia Fulltext newspapers from Australia and overseas.
• Newspaper Source (via EBSCOhost) Selected fulltext coverage of international newspapers.
• factiva Fulltext newspapers from Australia and overseas.
